The 6 strangest religions in the world

Since the dawn of humanity, man has always wanted to know the reason of the facts. As a result, he has often created certain beliefs to explain events with no logic or just without proves.

From that moment on, several cults started to appear worldwide with a common factor, in almost all of them: belief in a superior being who is all-powerful and omnipresent, responsible for everything that happens to us.

Currently, religions such as Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Taoism are the most predominant and have gained the most devotees.  But, if we told you that there are also cults where they worship UFOs, a flying spaghetti monster, or even Rambo?

Although they are a minority, in this article, we present some of the craziest or most curious existing religions:

Who doesn't know the Flying Spaghetti Monster? This religion, also known as Pastafarianism, was born in the United States as a social protest in late 2005 and was founded by Bobby Henderson. In this religion, rejected by many, the Flying Spaghetti Monster is a supernatural being who created the world 5,000 years ago, when he was a little drunk. If you want to read more, click here.

Invisible Pink Unicorn

Continuing with supernatural creatures, this time we worship an Invisible Pink Unicorn. According to its devotees, the world was created by a pink and invisible unicorn-shaped goddess. This religion, founded by an atheist group, emerged as a satire to discredit other religions. One of the debates among its devotees is that she steals socks. That would explain her existence and the enigmatic tendency to disappear. You will find more information here.

Presleyterian Church

From supernatural creatures to celebrities. Elvis Presley was known to be the King of Rock, and since 1992 he has become St. Elvis. According to this religion, its devotees must look towards Las Vegas once a day and make a pilgrimage, at least once in their lives, to Graceland. There are 31 commandments related to the products he consumed: bacon, Pepsi, peanut butter, El Producto cigars, Feenamint laxative, etc.

Although Elvis isn't the only one with his religion...

Maradonian Church

One of the greatest football players in the world is, without doubt, Diego Armando Maradona, now surpassed by Leo Messi. This religion, created in 1998 by the ex- Argentinean player's followers, has expanded to several countries and has its 10 commandments, a "Diego Nuestro" (alternative to the Lord's Prayer) among other prayers and even its festivities! This modern religion is based on George Lucas' Star Wars saga. Founded in 2001, its deity is the Force, essential natural energy of the universe. There are several beliefs within the same religion, but the most accepted is that they consider the Force to be a manifestation of God. Finally, we end our list with one of the best-known religions established among Hollywood celebrities. Scientology was founded in 1954 by the American science fiction author, L. Ron Hubbard. According to its devotees, humans are immortal spiritual beings who have forgotten their true nature and were brought by Xenu, the dictator of the Galactic Federation, in a spaceship. In addition to the above-mentioned, there are other religions such as the Rambo or Chuck Norris Worshippers, Damanhur (the sect that inspired the Avatar movie), the so-called Ho no Hana (the sect of "reading the foot"), Nuwaubianism and a long etcetera.
